Well, my holiday is officially over. Going back to work tomorrow and clinical placement starts on Tuesday. Should I be revising my work? Probably, because I've been assigned to one of the big eye hospitals and I should know my shit. Maybe tomorrow night. Oh shoot, I'm going to my cousin's 1st birthday dinner tomorrow night. Maybe later then. Or after this episode of Modern Family, whichever comes first.

So I guess I'm supposed to blog about my holiday but to be honest, it's hard to blog about what happened for the whole 3 weeks so I'm just going to do a highlights-lowlights thing for each of the destinations.

Sophia's Highlights of Orlando, Florida:

  • Disney World. I mean, come on. Rollercoasters, dagwood dogs (or corn dogs as they call them in America), princesses, Phineas and Ferb - the best and definitely the happiest place on Earth!
  • On the third day, we went to a shopping outlet where I went crazy at Forever 21. I was told that clothes in America were dirt cheap but I didn't know just how dirt cheap it was! I went to Westfield today and I felt like yelling out, "AUSTRALIA IS A RIP OFF! DON'T BUY YOUR CLOTHES HERE!"
  • The weather. 30+ degrees heat every day that we were there. I have the biggest sandal tan but I am loving it!
Sophia's Lowlights of Orlando, Florida:
  • I got a bacterial throat infection on one of the days and it hurt SO BAD. The infection caused a fever too and I had the chills. Looking back, I probably didn't necessarily need to go to a doctor but I needed antibiotics anyway. It cost me $440 to see a doctor plus $60 for my medication. Made me appreciate Medicare back home.
  • Because of my fever, I missed out on the only water theme park we were going to on the whole trip! So upsetting.
Sophia's Highlights of New York:
  • The views. Amazing views. Just as amazing as it looks in the movies.
  • The weather - HOT HOT HOT. GREAT GREAT GREAT.
  • Times Square. There were so many people and so many LIGHTS. The shopping was amazing too! Another Forever 21 store, another shopping haul.
  • Jonathon and I met up with Bonnie and Kohei! We had dinner at (Something) Dave's - their steaks were HUGE and there were unlimited refills on soft drinks.
  • Madame Tussaud's. I love plastic celebrities!
Sophia's Lowlights of New York:
  • The weather - I was sweating like mad. Everything was melting. Mellllllttttttinnnnnnnggggggg.
Sophia's Highlights of San Francisco:
  • The beautiful Victorian houses. How amazing do these look? I was yet to have a moment where my breath gets taken away like they say in the movies, but these houses did it. My future house is definitely going to be Victorian inspired.
  • The hotel I stayed at (The Handlery Hotel - highly recommend) was in the heart of Union Square, which consists of blocks of shops and a beautiful park across the road. Chinatown, Westfield, and a fantastic little burger place all within walking distance.
  • $1 burgers at Burger King. 'Nuff said.
Sophia's Lowlights of San Francisco:
  • The weather. It was cold and gloomy, just like the Sydney weather I had left behind. I CAME TO AMERICA TO ESCAPE THE WINTER, DAMMIT!
Sophia's Highlights of Los Angeles:
  • Seaworld San Diego. Even though I was very reluctant to go because the Seaworld in Australia sucks, I had a surprisingly good time! Jonathon and I also got a framed photo with Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Zoe so it was all good in da hood.
  • It was great to be back in warm summer weather!
Sophia's Lowlights of Los Angeles:
  • We went on a rushed tour of the city in the morning we were due to fly home. Someone in the party had a little bitch fit (any guesses who?) and ruined the last day.
And that's it for tonight. My episode of Modern Family stopped buffering at 11 minutes, so maybe it's time for study. Or maybe it's time for bed, I'm feeling a little sleepy.
